Don’t worry about a grand plan
American business magnate, philanthropist and politician, Michael Bloomberg, spoke at the University of North Carolina in 2012. He gave graduates a very idealistic commencement speech, claiming that you don’t need a grand plan because whatever your plan is now will change multiple times before you even hit 30. His main point was that you don’t need to be an expert in something to try it.
Be present in the moment
Chris Sacca, venture capitalist investor and company advisor, spoke at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management commencement ceremony in 2011. He spoke about presence and how when you’re present, you notice more things. You notice the expressions of people around you, you notice how wonderful and lucky you are to see today, and you notice how the people around you aren’t as lucky as you are.
