Mitt Romney
Speaking of Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential candidate is probably the highest profile businessman politician of recent years (after The Donald, of course). Romney earned an M.B.A. from Harvard before working for the Boston Consulting Group and then Bain & Company. He would eventually become CEO of Bain and then its venture capital spin-off, Bain Capital. Romney later led the organizing committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. After that, he served as governor of Massachusetts for four years and mounted two failed presidential campaigns. Mitt also had quite a pedigree as a son of another executive-turned-politician, George Romney.
