Fashion designer, Gucci revitalizer, and icon Tom Ford takes the cake as our hottest businessman. Ford came to Gucci in 1990 as a women’s wear designer. At a time when people wouldn’t have been caught dead wearing Gucci, Ford, then an unknown from the United States, revamped the entire brand, from store design to fragrances. Gucci’s sales increased 90% during Ford’s tenure; he took its value from nearly nothing to $4.3 billion. Ford later left Gucci and founded his own namesake fashion house. The Tom Ford line now sells men’s and women’s clothing and accessories in the United States, Europe, and Canada.
