Stephen Colbert started as an understudy for Steve Carell (Second City Chicago), but has since become a powerhouse with a successful show of his own. Before the Colbert Show took off, Colbert co-developed two sketch comedy series and worked as a “correspondent” for Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show.” Now, the Colbert report earns high ratings on Comedy Central and has been nominated for three Emmies. His 2006 book, “I am America (And So Can You!), was a New York Times bestseller. He also regularly pops up in other shows and films.
