The Bush School of Government and Public Services was founded in 1997 by the 41st President of the United States – George W. Bush. Its primary mission is summed up by three elements namely the cultivating of principled leaders, conducting research and performing public services. It is located in the campus of Texas A & M University which is Texas’ first public institution of higher learning.
The school’s program of study includes its two academic cornerstones – the Master of Public Service and Administration and the Master’s Program in International Affairs. It has also added online programs and extended educational programs such as Certificate in Advanced International Affair, Non-Profit Management and Homeland Security. The Master of Public Services and Administration Program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. The US News and World report has included it in its ranking as the Top 13% in Public Affairs Programs. It has also received recognition in terms of ranking in service to the nation as determined by Washington Monthly.

Bush School of Government offers financial aid through in-house scholarships, technology scholarships, Office of Graduate Studies Fellowships, graduate assistanceship, and financial loans. It is common for students to avail of a number of these sources to finance their graduate education. The school has kept its tuition rates affordable through generous donations as well as through state and financial funding. Full-time students, part-time students as well as 5-year students can receive laptop scholarships while being entitled to pay the rate of in-state tuition. Graduates of Bush School of Government have created a significant impact in the field of public service including the local, state, regional, national levels of government and also in the independent sector.
