Sacred Heart University was founded in 1963 to provide affordable, quality education to the citizens living in and around the suburb of Fairfield, Connecticut. It is the second largest catholic university in the New England region. Undergraduate and graduate level degree programs are offered on campus, and a selected number of courses are available on-line.
Sacred Heart University offers four online degree programs in the field of medicine / nursing. The University offers an online RN to BSN program, online RN to MSN program, online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and online Master of Science in Applied Technology (MSAP). The tuition fees for these online programs are $475.00 per credit hour for the RN to BSN course, $565.00 per credit hour for online MSN, and $675.00 per credit hour for MSAP. The cost securing an online degree at Sacred Heart can be reduced by applying for financial aid. Sacred Heart University’s admission requirements are very program-dependent. However, for the accelerated online courses and the online MSN course, it is imperative that applicants have a current RN license and proof of malpractice insurance. To apply for online MSAP, applicants should, at least, have a bachelor’s degree from any regionally accredited academic institution and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
