Oregon State University (OSU) is a major research university based in Willamette Valley, Oregon. Through its Division of Outreach and Engagement, particularly the OSU Extended Campus, the university offers online programs leading to bachelor’s and graduate degrees. In 2011, Oregon State University’s online college was ranked #18 in the nation by a leading trade publication. Non-degree online educational opportunities are also offered by Oregon State University including undergraduate minors, P-12 Outreach and various workforce and non-credit programs. It is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
Undergraduate online degrees include Economics, Environmental Sciences, Fisheries and Wild Life, General Agriculture, General Anthropology, General Horticulture, Liberal Studies, Natural Resources, Political Science and Women Studies. All throughout the year, over 700 courses in over 60 subjects are also offered online. Undergraduate online tuition costs $ 235.00 per credit while graduate online tuition costs $ 461.00 per credit. Graduate online education courses cost $ 475.00 per credit.
Eligible students can avail of financial aid in the form of grants, loans, scholarships and staff discount for qualified OSU employees. Financial aid can only be availed through OSU if degree-seeking distance education students are enrolled in 6 or more credit s per term or 5 or more credits per term for graduate degree/certificate students. All applications should be received at least two (2) days before the start of the term.
Prospective students seeking admission to the Oregon State University’s Extended Campus can contact the Student Service Center for details. Registration usually runs from 5 to 6 weeks prior to the start of every term and can be done online. Some of the services provided to distance students include advising, writing help, computer help, career services and the online newsletter.
