Upper Iowa University (UIU) was established in 1857 in the rural community of Fayette, Iowa. It is a private institution of higher education that offers undergraduate and graduate level degree programs in over 40 majors through on campus classes and distance learning (UIU – Online).
UIU – Online offers a wide range of online undergraduate and graduate degree programs, online associate of arts degrees and online certificate programs in the fields of art, business,conservation management, education, higher education administration, human services, information technology, liberal arts, maths, nursing, psychology, among others. A full list of available academic programs offered online can be viewed through the Upper Iowa University website. Alternatively, a prospectus can be requested from the UIU Admissions Office. Incidentally, UIU – Online’s classes operate on two eight-week terms per semester. Through this academic schedule, students are able to take two classes per term.
Tuition costs for UIU’s online programs range from $236.00 per credit hour to $330.00 per credit hour. Online graduate courses cost $399.00 per credit hour. Financial aid in the form of federal grants, loans and scholarships are available to eligible students. UIU Online also offers tuition fee discounts to active duty service members. Upper Iowa University’s main campus and the distance learning arm are accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is also approved by the Louisiana Higher Education Board, the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board and the Iowa Department of Education.
