American Breast Cancer Foundation

The American Breast Cancer Foundation has been called “one of the most wasteful charities in the nation for 13 years” by Tampa Bay’s Worst Charities list, being accused of luring donors in by promising free breast exams and then donating at least 75 cents of every donated dollar to professional fundraisers instead.
Almost $18 million was doled out to vice president Joseph A Wolf’s personal telemarketing company, Non Profit Promotions, between the years of 2003 and 2010 — something that was kept a shady secret from the IRS until 2006.
Though Phyllis Wolf, mother of Joseph A Wolf and board member, was forced to resign following public outcry in 2010, she still received over $100,000 in salary that year. As for cancer patients? Their support was a paltry $20,000.
