With most successful hacks, there’s an element of human error on the part of the victim, and this is one of the most common. Many common threats can be diverted simply by being aware that you could be a target and exercising a bit of common sense. Use anti-virus software that’s updated, have a policy about passwords, work on a secured network, password protect documents, and don’t share financial data. Once you start, almost everything that keeps you secure will fade into the background of the day, not taking any time for your average worker.
