If you have a small business, it’s likely that your IT folks are handling a variety of IT tasks for you, and are working as generalists rather than cybersecurity specialists. While this might work for most of the technical specs you’re after, weak security will come back to bite you. If you don’t have a member of your IT staff that focuses on security, remember to seek outside help and check the status of your security from time to time. If you’re a large business, you’re a bigger target. Don’t think that just because security isn’t a part of your product that it’s not worth expanding your team.
